But for me, spring is where it's at. Late spring--like late May and early June--for a gardener, it truly is the best time of year. For a rose gardener, it's pure heaven. I wait all winter for those blissful two months, and it's worth the wait, when my Old Garden Roses burst forth with their blossoms and the air is sweet with scent. The saying, "God grows roses in the spring and man has to do it for the rest of the year" is so true! Spring is wonderful because it is full of signs of new life and rebirth, which is just enchanting to me. But, fall is my very favorite. Thus I just learned of your cancer diagnosis and kick-butt attitude in attacking the ugly "c" word. I'm not sure what exactly prompted me to pay your blog a visit...but I did...and oddly enough just had to let my little girl (age 9) know that her beloved 20-something ballet teacher has breast cancer and will be taking the next year off from teaching. Yes, she will still be managing the day-to-day affairs of the dance studio, but new teachers have been hired and "Miss Amanda" asked that we tell our daughters ourselves rather than allow them to hear or learn of the diagnosis at the studio. Miss Amanda's prognosis is excellent, but still a shock. I will be adding you to my litany of prayer intentions each evening.
