December 17, 2012

It's snowing.

My shopping is not finished.

The house is decorated.

The last order for my senior photography business will be delivered today.

Yay!

My oldest son and daughter-in-law are moving from New York to Montana.

Today!

They've been driving cross country for the last couple days and will be here in just a few hours.

I'm so excited I can't see straight.

That's the latest and greatest from here.

How about you?

Are you staying home this year or traveling over the river and through the woods?

Are you ahead of the rush or drowning in last minute preparations?

I'd love to hear how things are going at your house!

  2. My son is moving from GA to TX, going the opposite way, grateful for the doors God has opened, yet we will miss them being so far away. However, he marries his fiancee Friday night, so grateful he will have his love and they can go together. SInce we had the wedding, Christmas had to be finished, just waiting for a few more UPS pkgs. to arrive.
Glad you have a homecoming, coming your way! Merry Christmas!

  3. Hi Sweetie Girl - so nice to see your post today. SO EXCITED for you that your son & DIL are moving HOME. We are decorated, and baking, and wrapping, and STILL SHOPPING. And it's all good. What gets done, gets done. No snow... I'm baking to Christmas on the radio today, and it's in the 50's... sliding door open as I bake! I hope you have a fabulous family Christmas. Big hugs to you! ~Sal

  11. Exciting news having your son and his wife coming back home. I sure wish that all my children and their families lived nearby.
Sounds like you have a good handle on what needs to be done.
I am in a good place for the holidays. Some cleaning and maybe a little baking and preparing. There always seems to be a present or two that needs to be found to even things out. But I am glad that I am where I am with not feeling well for so long.....migraines.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

  12. Love your image! I invite you to pop over to my blog, you'll see where I'm at. I'm so happy for you that your son is coming home. My daughter did the opposite, moved from Oregon to Ohio and took my 2 beloved granddaughters away from me. So, count your blessings!

  21. Hello! So exciting that your son is moving closer. We will stay close to home as always. We live near to my parents and my in-laws, always have. So it's easy to visit everyone and share in the day.

  23. Meadowbrook Farm appearing in my Google Reader today cheered me up . . . just a bit. Hearing that your son and daughter in law will soon be living in Montana made me feel very happy for you!

I guess at a time like this I want my children grandchildren close by . . . I need to reach out and hug them, touch their hands, kiss their cheeks . . .

Sunday my kids and grands will all be here . . . right here in this house. Joy and thankfulness are filling this aching heart of mine as I sorrow for those lives who have been stilled . . . I am so looking forward to Sunday.

I am sure you will love this time of reunion . . .

  25. How exciting to have them back in Montana at last and just in time for Christmas! That's a pretty big gift to fit under your tree.

There's still a little shopping to do and things to make and then it's off to Portland to spend the holiday with friends & family. This is the first time in eternity that I didn't host Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner and I kind of like it... xo

  31. Merry Christmas dear Teresa! You've been on my mind and I hope (I'm sure) you had a wonderful Christmas with everyone home! Your weather is still on my phone so I've been seeing the days you have snow. I can close my eyes and picture how lovely it must be... but cold I'm sure! I had a great Christmas and even though I was done early, it still got hectic... but a good warm-my-heart kind of hectic. Wonderful memories were made!
Stay warm dear friend and Happy New Year!!
    Love and blessings, Julie

  38. Just stopping by to look at your beautiful summer flowers! We have highs in the negatives here this week in Minnesota, windchills in the negative 40's (is that weather all from you guys? If so, you can have it back...) so I am itching to see beautiful flowers this week!

Enjoy your winter week, and dreaming of summer days, as I am quite positive you are starting to do by now!

  40. I just discovered your blog and think it is absolutely the prettiest one I've ever seen. You obviously have a created your own little slice of heaven and it's so nice to see how much you are enjoying it.

I read where you feel you've lost your bloging mojo - which is unfortunate, although I don't know how anyone sustains it for very long. Just hope you somehow find it again because truly, this is a lovely site.

    Best wishes!
