I finally get it.
I'm still kind of new to this pin crazy world you've got going, but I have to admit that at first you had me a bit irritated.
Now, I'm not a person who particularly enjoys being forced to do something I don't particularly want to do.
Therefore, I initially rebelled when you required me to "describe my pin". I didn't want to describe my pin. I didn't want to be slowed down. I didn't want to have to think that hard.
Or think period.
I just wanted to stay in my own little pin-board zone and be left alone to enjoy the first sweet moments of what would soon become a raging addiction.
But now I get it. I get that your search system needs our pin descriptions in order to function. I understand that when I took the easy way out and quickly typed in the * instead of typing in an actual description, I wasn't really helping you or my fellow searchers out.
I'm sorry I'm so dumb.
I hereby vow to appropriately describe my pins forever and ever.
Sincerely,
Teresa
So how about the rest of you....are you addicted? Do you have Pinterest self control? Or are you like me and once you start down a Pinterest rabbit trail, the rest of the world instantly fades away? Please tell me I'm not alone.
* My chaotic and totally unorganized pins can be found here.
* If you want to see amazingly wonderful pinboards, go visit this girl.
* In fact, just skip my pinboards and go straight to hers.
* Actually, let's just pretend that her pinboards are MY pinboards.
* Is that okay, Mary? It is? Thank you!
Have a wonderful weekend!
Totally addicted, and now following you as well :)
ReplyDeleteFirst, it was my "crack"(Black)berry, then it was "crack"(face)book, and now, adding to my growing list of addictions, is Pinterest. I haven't quite come up with a satisfying name for it though..."crack"interest, "crack"terest, they just don't have that ring. Rich people problems :) I could go on, but then we'd be here and not pinning.
ReplyDeleteI signed up when it first came out, but I never did it. Now you've got me thinking I should never venture there again! I may never come out alive. :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that door/window (?) tree!!!
I love Pinterest and have actually been inspired to make some things, redecorate, and just enjoy the 'ride'. You are not alone :)
ReplyDelete...and now I have a new blog to love too. Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteUhhmm, me? Pinterest self-control? Ha, I don't think so. ;) I'm following your boards, and you can find mine here, if you like. Lovely inspiration!
ReplyDeleteI just started pinning about a month ago and really have to be careful not to spend too much time doing it. Added to my magazine addiction and it's almost more than I can take. Almost:)
ReplyDeleteAddicted as well, but seriously, I think Pinterest is "a wedged bear in a great tightness." Every time I do something, I get an error message. I don't think they can keep up with themselves (or us!) LOL
ReplyDeleteOkay, so seriously, I'm truly supposed to be working and well, what do you know? I just lost myself momentarily (does an hour count as momentarily?) in a whole lot of "pins!" Ms. Teresa, I'm always loving what you write, friend. Hope you're doing well!
ReplyDeleteAt first I didn't get the whole thing either and couldn't figure out what the big deal was. Now I know and I'm totally addicted! Though I must admit my pinning has calmed down after my initial faze.
ReplyDeleteI'll start following you as well as the one you mentioned! One can never have to many pins ; )
Oooo you're on Pinterest? I bet your boards are dreamy! I better go follow you and look at all the wonderful things you surely have pinned!
ReplyDelete(I'm a lazy pinner too. Just hit the space bar a few times and that qualifies as a description. Sad but true)
So funny - thanks - and I love that image of the ornaments in a tree shape!
ReplyDeleteI like it but cannot say I am addicted yet. But I guess in due time I like everyone else will find it impossible to not be on the site constantly as its growing so fast. I am taking it slow, as I have so much going on but its fun and I am glad I am getting my feet wet but taking baby steps...call me a baby pinny:)
ReplyDeleteOh I am a fellow Pinterest Addict! It is so great to have all so many pics at your fingertips! I have over 100 boards! I have found that after the initial start up period you don't have to spend much time a day to find new pins! Gonna go follow you now!;) Sandie/steadmanscorner.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteYes Pinterest...see... too busy pinning for long comment, heehee.
ReplyDeleteHello my name is Robin...
ReplyDeleteand I totally love Pinterest and glad to see you do too. I have done my best to share the love with friends, family and co-workers.
Thanks for sharing your mutual addiction.
Happy pinning.
I hear you. I'm so far gone. It is my happy place.
ReplyDeleteah...yes...pinterest...how i long for thee! i've been pining for pinning for some time now. kinda afraid if i start i wouldn't stop. ha! no really, seriously!
ReplyDeleteAddicted. Totally.
ReplyDeleteTeresa
ReplyDeleteI have seen 'pins' on other ladies blogs and know I dare not touch it with a ten foot pole!
Or I'd be hooked as well.
I have to admit the temptation gets harder and harder all the time though. It surely won't hurt if I just take a quick peek at yours or Mary's, will it? I'll let you know how that works out!
Totally addicted!! I've pinned a few of your photos on my photography inspiration boards!!
ReplyDeleteI'd sure love to follow you on pinterest if you don't mind sharing your link.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad someone else is like me! I didn't get it at first either, but now I do and the world fades away. I'm crazy for it. Just like blogging. Oh and by the way my Folk came today, guess who is in there?! I can't wait to sit and let the world fade away. I'm going to check out your Pinerest right now.
ReplyDeletePlease take care of Montana for me, I'll be there for Christmas~SueBee
Haha, I love this! One of my pin-peeves is the fact that I can never find anything I'm actually looking for on Pinterest! Type in "table decor": 200 results. Type in "pretty"...200,000,000 (slight exaggeration). Plus, I have found that the more detailed my initial descriptions are, the easier it is for me to remember why I wanted to "pin" it in the first place~
ReplyDeleteLove Pinterest! Just discovered it about a week ago...now I pin like crazy!
ReplyDeleteHave you tried the "cake batter" pancakes...pinned that to my "sweet treats" board and made them for Benjamin's 5th birthday this week...
...just to prove to my husband that pinning has purpose! HA!
Things I Love About You #4,368:
ReplyDeleteYou have an entire board of "Ice Cream" and just one lone pin devoted to regular food.
Welcome to Pinterest! Can't wait to follow your boards! ooxx`jodi
ReplyDeleteTeresa dear,
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting that you should blog on this! Because I just found you through PINTEREST!!!!! I am coming to ask permission to use some photos of your lovely 2009 Christmas with the aqua decorations. I have to admit that I usually snatch photos from Pinterest and do my best to site the original sources. But when I was enchanted with your photos, I saw that these are of your own personal home and belongs. I am LOVE your photos but I will not use them unless you give me permission. If you do allow it, I will most certainly link my readers to you for your blog is just stunning.
Let me know and thank you for such beauty! Anita
Well, I haven't jumped on board yet but I feel it coming!!
ReplyDeleteI too am addicted and will just have to live with less sleep until the time-vacuum, aka the internet, invents 26 hour days.
ReplyDeleteAnd ... I am so honored to have my so amateur photo of my ornament tree appear in this post. Thank you, Teresa!
Dear, dear Teresa,
ReplyDeleteI thank you SO much for contacting me yesterday! And for the permission to use your photos, I am so grateful. When I saw them, being a lover of aqua, I thought, "WOW! I MUST HAVE THOSE!" But when I saw that this is probably your home, I thought best to ask first! You are ever so kind. I will be posting next Friday as usual, and I will link to this INCREDIBLE BLOG I found, via Pinterest!
HUGS and MANY THANKS...Anita
aww I know the rabbit hole well. I'll be following you.
