kiss the girl

About a week before our oldest came home for his Christmas visit, we had a little text conversation.

Ma ~ Are you going to let me take pictures of you and that adorable girlfriend of yours when you come home next week?

Junior ~ I was wondering when this was gonna come up....it will be on a case by case basis....don't push your luck though.

Ma ~ Well, just fyi, whether or not you get peanut butter pie or prime rib or a bed for that matter is also on a case by case basis.

Guess what.

I got my pictures.

And it was fun!

I think it helped that there were a few smoochie shots scattered throughout the day.

But the real deal sealer was the fact that the aforementioned adorable girlfriend/smooch recipient also wanted these pictures, and seriously, what fella could say no to that.

It's going to be really hard for me to resist the urge to gush, because mom or not, I think these two are so stinking cute.

See what I mean?

Cute! Beautiful! Handsome! Adorable! Gorgeous!

(Done gushing.)

(More smooching.)

We had hopped in the car to find some snow and a hill for these next shots.

This was my son's idea - I had never seen it done before and it was hilarious and very fun to do.

Very Gulliver's Travels.

Then back to a very muddy farm for a few more pictures.

True to form, as we were walking back toward the house after my claims that we were done, I found about eight more perfect spots for those last perfect shots. After the seventh time saying that we were done, and then the seventh time saying, "oh, just a few more shots over here!", I knew I was really pushing my luck.

But I just pulled out the old tried and true.

"Junior? Can you please kiss that pretty girl one more time?"

Okay ma, if you insist.

  2. Oh, I just love these pictures. *love* The candycane heart kiss and this last one over the stream are beautiful. As are the subjects, and that helps :)

  3. Priceless!!! Great story to go with the pictures too! And you are so right, they are adorable for sure!

  4. Wow, that last photo is so beautiful I'm tearing up a little! How handy if they got engaged, their pics would already be done!! Any chance of that happening? How fun would it be to find an engagement ring in your stocking!

  5. Those are amazing (helps that your subjects are so striking!) and the last one is my favorite! It's such a joy as a mom of boys who are little right now, to see how you interact so lovingly with your grown guys.

  6. I was thinking the same thing as Elisabeth about engagment photos. Is there more to these pics than meets the eye? (asked the nosey blog commenter)! :-)

Either way, these are some gorgeous pics of happy, pretty/handsome couple who are possibly smiling because now they know they will get some prime rib and peanut butter pie.

  11. That last picture is the bee's knees. And the candy cane shot...be still my heart. And as a girl who grew up in Alaska let me just say, Extra Tuffs (his boots) are hot. Totally makes a boy into a man. I gotta get my husband some of those. Don't see them much around these parts. You can tell those two really like each other. Isn't love grand!

  12. Love the guilt trip imposed on your son to get your way! I tend to use that strategy when needed also. BTY: Pictures are so darn ADORABLE. To bad we live several states away from you otherwise I would be knocking at your door for engagement pictures for my children (if and when they get around to getting married).

  13. G is hot!

Is it creepy that I just said that?

    I feel so dirty...

T is gorgeous and they look adorable together! Also, is G like 7'10"? He looks rather tall.

Those funny shots ruled the school! With the very first one I thought, "Hmmm... I never would've pegged T-Bone for this type of shot!" Alas, it wasn't your idea. How fun though! I can't wait to see how you incorporate the idea with the babies or the HS girls.

ps- Could you please come over here and get Silas to stop jumping in his crib and take a stinking nap??? Thanks.

  14. Wow how fun for those two to have these great couple photos! They are both gorgeous and the photos are lovely. The ones crack me up where one is "holding" the other - we used to do shots like that in Iraq with Sadamn's hands. Enjoy your family being home for the holidays.
